The Raica table is a testament to Jalayerian's innovative approach to design. Drawing inspiration from the wide surface and strong stems of lotus leaves, the table features a large round surface supported by sturdy legs. The choice of wood as a building material further strengthens the connection to nature.
But the Raica table is not just about aesthetics. It's a symbol of peace and friendship, concepts deeply rooted in many ancient civilizations, including Iran. The table's design is also environmentally friendly, adhering to green design standards. This is a piece of furniture that not only looks good but also does good.
The table was brought to life using the technical production capabilities of the Choob Sang company. The production process involved plywood pressing and forming, followed by machining by a 5-axis CNC working center. The result is a table with a 500mm radius circle surface and 370mm height legs.
Despite the challenges faced during production, such as forming sharp 90-degree angles with plywood and ensuring the endurance of the table legs, Jalayerian and her team were able to overcome them. The table's design was tested and refined until it met the desired standards of quality and durability.
The Raica table is more than just a piece of furniture. It's a statement about the importance of nature, peace, and friendship in our lives. It's a testament to Jalayerian's commitment to green design and her ability to create beautiful, functional pieces that resonate with people.
The Raica table was awarded Silver in the A' Furniture Design Award in 2017, a testament to its outstanding design and innovation. This award recognizes top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs that showcase a remarkable level of excellence and introduce positive feelings, amazement, and wonder.
